Ricketts on trial with Bolton!
Skysports.com understands that Jamaican international
Donovan Ricketts is set to go on trial with Bolton Wanderers.
The
impressive Village United star has been training with Rushden &
Diamonds over the last two weeks, but now Bolton have expressed
an interest. A number of sides have been impressed by Ricketts's
recent displays for The Reggae Boyz and his superb effort against
Brazil at Leicester City has done wonders for his reputation. The
goalkeeper is now set to get the chance to earn a move to Bolton,
where he could link up with fellow countrymen Ricardo Gardner and
Jermaine Johnson.
The 26-year-old has given an exclusive interview to skysports.com
and revealed he was looking forward to the prospect of going to
The Reebok Stadium.
'I am looking forward to it, it should be fun,' he said.
'I have not had a chance to speak to Jermaine or Ricardo about
it, I just want to get up there.
'I am feeling good and am confident in my own ability to do well.
'I hope I can do myself justice when I get there.'
Bolton manager Sam Allardyce also told skysports.com: 'We saw him
in the game with Brazil and made contact.
'We wanted him on trial then, but were told he was going to Rushden.
'I am going to speak to Brian Talbot to see what the situation
is with them, so we will see.'
It is understood that Talbot has recommended Ricketts to Bolton
and that a trial will take place next week.
