04/07/23: Jamaica vs.
Ireland at Unity Cup in England (german)
04/07/15: Barnes' 15 year old son's international
prospects - No one asked about that directly, but Barnes
did say that it was instructive that so many are now pledging
allegiance to Jamaica, that that was a good thing. He said when
he decided to play for England, there was no choice, but if he
were playing today, then the choice would be difficult. Never
said what he would have done.
04/07/15: GARDNER PENS NEW CONTRACT - The
Jamaican is fully fit again after suffering a knee ligament injury
last season and looking forward to making an impact on the 2004/2005
Premiership campaign. He made his comeback towards the end of
a successful term for Sam Allardyce's men and is now straining
at the leash. After arriving on the back of his 1998 World Cup
displays for The Reggae Boyz, Gardner will have spent ten years
with Wanderers if he sees out the entirety of the fresh contract.
With Nicky Hunt also putting pen-to-paper at The Reebok Stadium
recently, Allardyce is enjoying some success in persuading his
existing players to commit their futures to the club. The former
Harbour View midfielder-turned-full back has made 152 league starts
for Bolton and the £1 million splashed out was clearly money
well spent.
04/07/13:
Lazaroni nets Reggae Boyz job (The Press Association)
- Brazilian Sebastio Lazaroni has been appointed as the new coach
of Jamaica. Lazaroni, who coached Brazil in the 1990 FIFA World
Cup in Italy, will work alongside technical director Carl Brown
as Jamaica try to qualify for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. Jamaican
Football Federation president Crenston Boxhill told PA International:
"Carl Brown and I have had a very good relationship over
the years and it was Carl who indicated that if there was anybody
out there that could help us get to Germany 2006, it was Lazaroni.
"Carl worked with Lazaroni on his short stint in Jamaica
and he developed great respect for him and I think they will work
well together." Jamaica recently advanced to the semi-final
round of FIFA World Cup qualifying after beating Haiti 3-0 in
the second leg for a 4-1 aggregate win. In that stage, they will
face the United States, Panama and El Salvador. They host the
U.S. in their first semi-final qualifier in Kingston on 18 August.

04/07/06: Euell pledges international future
to Jamaica (Reuters) - Charlton Athletic's former England
Under-21 striker Jason Euell is switching his international allegiance
to Jamaica, the premier league club said on Tuesday. The 27-year-old
Londoner, whose father is Jamaican, could make his debut in a
2006 World Cup qualifier against the United States on August 18
after a nationality rule change last year. Euell saw Jamaica in
a Unity Cup game against Nigeria at Charlton's ground and then
travelled to watch them in a 3-0 World Cup qualifying win over
Haiti in Kingston last month. "The stadium was absolutely
brimming and now I just can't wait to be part of it rather than
watching from the side," Euell told the Charlton website.
"The last few weeks have really made me want to play for
Jamaica.... There is a World Cup to play for and it would just
be amazing to be part of a tournament like that." 'The Reggae
Boyz' are through to the semi-final round of CONCACAF qualifying
for 2006, joining the United States, Panama and El Salvador in
their group. The top two will move to a final six-team group round,
with the top three finishers qualifying for the tournament in
Germany.

"Terminator" Davis didn´t give Forlan
a chance. 'I HAD HEARD that they were a good team but I didn't
know they were this good,' were the high praises of Diego
Forlan of Uruguay and Manchester United, after his team went down

Nov 03/Dec 03: MetroStars defender
Craig Ziadie has arrived in England today for
trials with three Division One clubs. The Jamaican international
flew into Manchester International Airport after a recommendation
to test the waters in England by teammate Clint Mathis –
who has also been trying to secure a contract in the UK, last
week. Ziadie is believed to be having one trial with Bradford
City, while the other two Division One clubs noting an
interest are unknown. He is a current fixture in the Jamaican
international squad, allowing Work Permit concerns should he sign
in England. The 25-year old can play in both defence and in mitfield,
and while technically gifted he failed to fulfil his full potential
for the MetroStars in the 2003 season. +++ The
recent „Rookie of the year“ Damani Ralph,
turned down requests to train with Leicester,
Coventry and Werder Bremen in
Germany this off-season in order to go home to Jamaica and get
some much needed rest after a very eventful year. Maybe in January
he´ll get some more offers from europea. +++
Fuller is reported to be the target of several
clubs who want to sign him and Preston North End may be under
pressure to keep the 24-year-old striker, who previously played
for Hearts in Scotland where he was that club´s
player of the year in the 2001/2002 season. Tottenham
Hotspurs, Leeds United and FC
Fulham are keen to sign him.

03/09/17: Fuller, Lowe on target - REGGAE
BOYZ, Ricardo Fuller and Onandi Lowe, were on target last night
as their clubs scored wins in English Divisions one and two respectively.
Former Tivoli Gardens star, Fuller, slammed in
a double as Preston Northend whipped Coventry
4-2 at home. Fuller who had an outstanding game for Jamaica in
the recent loss to Australia at Reading put his team ahead in
the 35th minute. He scored again on the stroke of half time after
Steve Staunton had levelled things for Coventry from the penalty
spot in the 42nd minute. Richard Cresswell put the match out of
reach of Coventry in the 66th minute and substitute Michael Keane
completed the scoring for the winners in the 88th minute. Coventry's
second came from the boot of Andrew Murrell in the 77th. Lowe
also got Rushden and Diamonds off the mark as
his team romped to a 3-1 victory over Notts County.
Lowe's 29th minute strike was followed by goals from Stuart Gray
(49th minute penalty) and Duane Darby in the 81st minute. Mark
Stallard got Notts' consolation goal.
03/09/15: Keniel Moodie, at the U19 tournament
in Oberndorf obviously one of the best players, had made a big
step in jamaican soccer, first time playing in jamaican first

to went off. Nationalkeeper Aaron Lawrence couldn´t made
